Have you ever stopped to consider the incredible power you possess within yourself to achieve a state of flow consciousness and experience true regeneration?
It’s a remarkable journey that begins within you. Picture yourself tapping into your inner reserves of energy and focus, aligning your thoughts and actions with your deepest passions and values. As you do so, you begin to feel a sense of clarity and purpose that propels you forward with unstoppable momentum.
Meet Jennine Cohen, an adventure and luxury travel expert, as well as the Co-founder of Women Travel Leaders. In a recent interview, she discussed the concept of regeneration and how flow consciousness can be used to cultivate meaningful business leadership. In unprecedented times like the pandemic, it’s especially important for business leaders to tap into their intuition and lead from a perspective of flow consciousness. Cohen notes that sitting with uncertainty and believing that everything is working to our advantage is crucial for navigating challenges and fostering innovation.
Cohen’s own journey to flow consciousness began with a long career in the travel industry. She worked for a magazine that distributed on private jets, but found that the experience lacked sustainability and heart. Seeking to merge outdoor and luxury travel to do good in the world, she became the Managing Director of Global Sales for Geographic Expeditions for 10 years.
During the pandemic, Cohen found herself unexpectedly staying in Mexico for three years. There, she discovered kite surfing and began using it as a way to channel connection and oneness with the elements and herself. She also studied flow consciousness at the Flow Consciousness Institute and went from being extremely regimented to living life day by day.
“A lot of the challenges that we’ve faced over the past few years during the pandemic are obstacles that you can’t simply think your way out of. It’s about sitting with uncertainty and believing that ultimately everything is working to our advantage. Regenerative travel itself is really all about nature and its timings. Nature and its cycles are what help us to innovate and without innovation we can’t evolve,” shares Cohen.
According to Cohen, flow consciousness involves expanding the state of flow beyond just a momentary experience and incorporating it into our everyday lives, both personally and professionally. In a society that values achievement, benchmarks, and data-driven intelligence, there isn’t always space for flow. However, flow is the source of creativity and innovation, which are essential for business success.
To support flow consciousness, Cohen recommends using tools that can help channel creativity and ground us in wisdom rather than solely relying on intelligence. By tapping into both knowledge and intuition, business leaders can make better decisions that can lead to sustained energy and ultimately save time and money.
“When you look at nature, whether it be fungus or trees, the exchange of information is important to the health of all. Those natural systems are constantly exchanging information with one another, even when they might be competing with each other. The model of Women Travel Leaders is based on the idea of the hive mind. We’re really embracing that sense of abundance for all instead of competition. We’re shifting the mindset of it being ‘I win, you lose’ to instead being ‘we all win when we exchange information,'” Cohen shares.
Cohen founded Women Travel Leaders during the pandemic to support business leaders in the travel industry, both men and women. The organization offers coaching, consulting, and a community for women in leadership positions. Cohen believes that it’s important for women to have a space where they can be themselves and support each other in their personal and professional growth.
