Emerging from the landscape along the ancient Zambezi River, Nyamatusi Camp sits as though it has always been part of the Zimbabwean environment. Though it only opened in 2019, Nyamatusi pays homage to the old, untouched ways of life in Mana Pools National Park through its use of local and sustainable materials. The camp itself is considered “semi-permanent,” meaning it can be easily removed from the environment at any time, leaving only footprints behind. Contributing to the African Bush Camps (ABC) Foundation’s efforts, Nyamatusi prioritizes conservation, education, and community empowerment.
At Nyamatusi Camp, life flows as freely as the Zambezi River. Water is a featured design element throughout the camp, and the pools and nearby river frequently attract herds of elephants. You can get in touch with the rhythms of nature on walking safaris through the bush, or by canoeing down the ancient waterways. The camp is an isolated establishment in the sweeping river environment, meaning you can experience authentic Africa with no interruptions. By utilizing solar power, water recycling, and local, sustainable building materials, Nyamatusi Camp promises a long future and minimal impact on the environment.
