Discover an ancient land untouched by time—a haven of serenity in which to reconnect with the rhythms of the earth. Immerse yourself in nature. Soak yourself in local culture. Explore the rich wildlife of Gal Oya National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most remote and least visited wilderness areas. Gal Oya Lodge is a unique Sri Lanka eco-lodge spread across 20 acres of private jungle that remains peacefully untouched by the hands of man.
The eco-chic bungalows of Gal Oya Lodge are constructed with sustainable, locally-sourced materials whenever possible and utilize solar panels to heat water. The lodge’s water needs are met by the property’s bore well, and the filtered water is served in recycled glass bottles. Consciously harnessing the natural resources of the land, the lodge creates authentic Sri Lankan dishes from food grown onsite or obtained from a local market. Guests can also see firsthand the wildlife conservation efforts of the lodge by visiting the onsite research center and learning about current research initiatives.
The wild beauty of Gal Oya Lodge encourages exploration of Sri Lanka’s natural wonders, through encounters with wildlife and authentic interactions with the people who call this untouched region home.
